Hi guys, hope you're all well. Nothing much different to report here in the last week! My Mum's infection is still going strong so I've been doing alot of driving Mum around to doctor and hospital appointments. Her second appointment with the Consultant Oncologist is on Monday so we might get a better idea of when her chemo starts, or at least they might take some decisive action over this wretched infection.

As well as making a couple of cards, I've been refurbishing a jewellery chest for my new dressing room. At the moment I've only got as far as sanding in down but I'm hopeful it'll look nice so I'll post some piccies at a later date.

Anyhoo, this is another birthday card for my sis who loves to shop so I figured this Stamping Bella stamp was pretty appropriate for her. I coloured her with watercolour pencils and added some highlights in glitter. Do click on the photo as you'll get better detail. I then highlighted the whole image with a copic. The papers are all Basic Grey- I love these colours! Sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. The tiny purple flower in the centre is actually a cheap blue one from a sheet of ones from The Works but I used my copics to colour it so it matched and then added a load of glitter on top! The swirly die is by Boss Kut.

I'd like to enter this for some challenges:

Basic Grey- pearls
Daring Cardmakers- use the colour peridot
Creative Card Crew- Cute and girly

Here is a little close up. Hope my sis likes her hair as I've tried to get it to look auburn like her's.

My second card is a Moving House card for my sis. Hope I'm not tempting fate by doing this as they haven't exchanged yet but they're close so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I've just realised I've used really similar colours to the previous card! So I love my 2 new stamp sets by Papertrey Ink. I love how you can create little scenes with them, they remind me SO much of Fuzzy Felts. Do you remember them?! I LOVED Fuzzy Felts!! Such a simpler time, can't imagine they'd be very popular now!! I did some major paper piecing with this one- the sofa, cushions, mugs, rug, lampshade are all paper pieced. The rest I coloured in with watercolour pencils. All the papers are by Stampin Up and the carpet is a piece of Stampin Up cardstock. The sentiment is by Elzybells.

A close up of the scene, it looks cosy, doesn't it?!

I'd like to enter this into:

Cute Card Thursday- anything goes

Have a great week! Thanks for dropping by x

Hello Steph,
so lovely to see you again! That infection is unbelievable isnt it, it is obviously very stubborn but I hope your Mum can shift it asap. I bet she's just glad that she's got you to help her out.

Ive missed seeing your cards! They are both lovely and so very stylish! The papers are really great, the colours being fab!
Love all of the paper piecing on your Sis's moving card!

Good luck with the revamp of the jewellery chest, look forward to seeing that later!

Steph these are truly gorgeous and both qualify in our Challenge at DCM - and may I say that you must have had some very sophisticated fuzzy felts..! And also what a great sister you are - if you asked my sissy what my hair colour was, she'd definitely say 'brownish' - 'auburn' wouldn't cross her mind - oh to be glamorous!

Hi Steph

I do hope they can sort your Mum's infection out. It must be very tiring for both of you.

Your creations are lovely - you have put a lot of thought and effort into making them special.

Will be thinking of you and your Mum.

Love Jules xx

Hi Steph, I'm not too bad. Had a bit of a strange couple of weeks after forgetting my tablets twice last week...whoops!!
Sorry to hear no real good news on your mum's infection yet. I keep my fingers crossed for her & your sister's moving date!!! How's you ME I'm really feeling hopeful with this new group, they seem to make a lot of sense. Feeling a bit better in other departments too from taking forever living aloe vera juice every morning so finger s crossed for me too!! Happy Birthday to your sister. Hugs x x
