Busy bee

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing good. I really want to say thanks to all of you who've left such supportive comments re my Mum, I really am going to try and get round and visit you all. I know I've been a hopeless blogger!

My latest feeling is that of frustration. We saw the oncologist on Monday and we were told that Mum can't have any treatment yet as they need to rescan her liver as the only scan they have was from the end of May when she had the bowel tumour removed. Apparently they leave it 3 months to see if it has grown any. Now wouldn't you have thought that if they knew this 3 months ago, they'd have automatically booked her in for a scan at 12 weeks??! Oh noooo, that would be too sensible. Instead we have to wait for an appointment with the oncologist so he can tell us all this and then wait another 3 weeks for her to have a scan and then get another appointment with the oncologist so he can tell us the news. So basically we have to endure another load of torturous waiting. Sometimes you just want to scream!

Anyhow as ever I've been a busy bee to take my mind off things and I'm hoping you will think this lucky as I have 4 cards to show you today!

I made this card using a sketch from the Cardmaker's Christmas sketch book which I really love. I very rarely make cards without images so I thought this was a nice change and took me out of my comfort zone. The papers are from Doodlebug- did you notice how the paper matches the Gingerbread brads?!! The brads are mounted on card cut with the smallest circle nesties.

I'd like to enter this into Christmas Stamping All Year Round who's challenge is to use a border punch and Moving along with the times who's challenge is Christmas.

Crafty stash used: Papers (Doodlebug); Assorted cardstock; Punch (Martha Stewart); Brads (won in blog candy); Nesties; Sentiment (Lily of the Valley)

My next card is for Sketch Saturday. Image is Penny Black coloured with copics. The papers are by Dream Street and sentiment is Lily of the Valley again.

As usual I love to give you a little close up!

Crafty stash used: Image (Penny Black); Copics; Papers (Dream Street); Assorted cardstock; Sentiment (LOTV); Brads (Poppicrafts); Ribbon (?); Nesties

Another unusual card for me again- this time the shape. When I first started making cards, my cards were alot smaller and way less involved and I used this shape alot. I have quite a few of these left which I never use so I thought I'd have a go at using them up! This sketch is again taken from the Cardmakers' Christmas sketch book. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils. You can see I've used alot of crazy stitching on this one.

I'd like to enter this into CRAFT challenge which is to use coloured pencils and the Alphabet Challenge- unused stash.

Crafty stash used: Image (Penny Black); Watercolour pencils; Paper (Doodlebug); Assorted cardstock; Button (Bunny Zoe's); Pearls (Wild Orchid Crafts); Sewing machine

And lastly another different style of card this time using recycling! As you know, I often keep bits from Christmas cards to recycle and I have this beautiful wreath and robin which I just knew would do a great recycled card. Again I used alot of stitching on this one- I think it's getting better don'tcha? Papers are by Crate Paper.

I'd like to enter this into Cute Card Thursday- challenge is bird or butterfly and Fussy and Fancy- challenge is christmas colours.

Crafty stash used: Image (recycled); Papers (Crate Paper); Assorted cardstock; Sewing machine; Buttons; Rub on (K&C0)

I hope you all have a good week. Promise to try and visit you all !!!! x
